From Specialist to Manager:
AI Digital Case
Online Course on Interna-tional Recruitment in High-Risk Industries for Headshot Agency
about
the client
AI Digital is a sharp, ambitious programmatic consultancy blending AI with human expertise. That mix leads to fast decisions, fast growth, and fast change.
EVALUA-TION
And one day, they came to us with a task that wasn’t fast at all:
That line stayed with us.
It WASN'T about compliance training.
It WASN'T about “checking the box.”
It WAS about people stepping into roles they had dreamed of and quietly fearing they weren’t ready for.
We said: WE ARE IN!
“We want our new managers to succeed. Not survive.”
If you’ve ever been promoted in a fast-growing company, you know the feeling
And suddenly you’re dealing with things no one warned you about: a conflict in the team, unclear priorities, cultural misunderstandings, a deadline nobody remembers agreeing to.
Your calendar explodes.
Your messenger doesn’t stop.
Your team is watching you. The same people you were joking with in DMs a week ago.
Yesterday you were the go-to specialist.
Today you’re the one people go to for answers you haven’t yet learned to have.
These are moments AI Digital wanted to change
Why was
this so challenging?
Why was
this so challen-ging?
What We Saw Behind the Request
They cared about the humans behind the role. They wanted a course that felt like a hand on the shoulder, not a list of rules.
In our first conversations with the HR team, something stood out:
AI Digital didn’t want a management program that drowns people in theory. They wanted to protect their people from burning out in their first months as managers.
How We Began Shaping the Experience
the course must feel alive.   the course must feel alive.   the course must feel alive.   the course must feel alive.   the course must feel alive.
Our role in LXD was to turn them into real moments a new manager actually lives through, with clear logic and practical tools behind each one.
AI Digital had rich internal materials — values, principles, expectations.
We started with one simple idea:
So we created:
practice supported by simple, useful theory
structure that fits naturally into an LMS

situations, not slides
tools you can apply tomorrow morning

Modules covered what new managers truly face:
goal-setting
building a manager’s calendar
cross-cultural nuance
feedback
communication
motivation
We designed not just content, but experience that makes learning stick.

Making the Course Feel Like AI Digital
Somewhere around the second meeting, we noticed something about the company
What was that?
  • a very distinct warmth in how people talk to each other
  • a wild sense of humor
  • a love for dogs so strong it felt almost like a corporate value
It became a story we were telling together.
And suddenly the project stopped being “a course.”
1
A virtual team
Not characters, but people who feel real: the colleague who speaks too fast, the one who avoids conflict, the one who always has a “quick question.” Managers met them in lesson one and kept meeting them as situations got more complex.
3
Humor with the company’s voice
Dogs appear when you need support. Cats show up when irony helps. Small elements that whisper: “Hey, you’re doing great. Keep going.”
2
A narrative thread
Short episodes, connected. Something you want to continue, not “complete.” Because learning works better when it feels like reading a series you don’t want to close.
5
Reflection section
We also added a Reflection section to help them connect the material to their own real context.
4
practice that feels meaningful
Inside the lessons, we added interactive moments — as much as the LMS allowed — to help learners actively retrieve and process information. And right after each lesson, managers stepped straight into a case-solving section: responding to conflicts, setting goals, untangling misunderstandings, giving feedback that doesn’t sting.
We brought in:
Dear AI Digital People Partners team,
working with you was a true joy. Your energy pushed us to explore bold ideas and experiment with daring approaches. You created a strong foundation, and your thoughtful, lightning-fast feedback turned this project into something truly special.
